About the Artwork:
She is my inner warrior. She is fierce and willful, beautifully bloodied after a victorious battle, and a force to be reckoned with. We all have her inside of us, but perhaps on occasion we hesitate to show her to the world. We are afraid of being too masculine, or too aggressive, or fear judgement from others. Whatever the case may be, it is important to let her out from time to time when strength is needed. If we do not speak, if we do not fight for what is right and true, we will fall into the shadows of society. She is at the forefront of my work, as a reminder to all women that we have an unforgiving strength, and it is okay to use it from time to time.
