About the Artwork
I painted Bath in the winter of 2023. I enjoy painting female figures as I think we are beautiful creatures in so many complex ways. We are strong and resilient, yet we have the subtle ability to provide comfort and warmth to those around us with such tenderness and care. Sometimes, we must also care for ourselves, to make us whole again. I painted this figure a bit softer, a bit gentler than some of my other figures. I wanted the feeling of comfort and warmth to be the center focus of this piece. After a long, hard day, she takes a moment of solitude to wash away her day. She enjoys the quiet; she cherishes this time to be alone in her thoughts. She is content.
