About the Artwork

The Robin often symbolizes good luck, happiness, new beginnings and renewal. There is an old saying about robins that goes something like this, “when robins appear, loved ones are near.” Some believe that when you see a robin, you are about to embark on a new chapter in your life.

This particular robin is a European Robin, which are distinguishable by their orange faces and lighter brown/bluish backs. Aside from the slight difference in color, the European Robins are much smaller than North American Robins. These cute little songbirds are believed to be very kind; if they think you are a friend, they will follow you around and often return to you if provided with food regularly. I was drawn to the Robin because of its fiery orange belly and sweet expression.
