About the Artwork
Male cardinals are a bold red, while female cardinals are a bit lighter. Cardinals are thought to be spiritual messengers, letting us know that loved ones who have passed are still near. The site of a cardinal can bring us peace and hope. When my partner Jeff passed in December, I went to a really dark place. I wasn’t sure of anything anymore, especially where our souls go when we pass on. Always having been a spiritual person, I reached out to people for help, I became open to signs around me and around Jeff’s loved ones, and I once again believe that his soul is safe and no longer in pain in the spiritual realm. His sister has been visited by cardinals, one in particular who sat next to her quietly with her young son for what seemed to be a few minutes. I believe that was Jeff letting her know that he is okay and that he is nearby. It doesn’t make it easier or less sad to live without him or to have lost him at such a young age, but it does help to know that he is not suffering anymore, and that his light is with us until we join him.
