Where Our Stories Meet

Why Some Art Feels Like Home

How Small We Are (Acrylic on Canvas) - September 2026

I’d like to think that because you are here reading this blog post, something about my artwork pulled you in. Some magical connection that we share led you to stop, take in my latest painting, and listen to my words.

I believe that the reason we are so drawn to some art, some music, some literature over others is partly an innate calling — that deep down in our soul, we have this shared interest of the quiet beauty of nature that others simply do not have. But the other part that draws us close together is the path that our lives have taken us down.

We share the same love of art because we have had similar experiences, or perhaps, we have similar needs. Whatever led you here — whether you’ve always been drawn to a life of peace and serenity, found yourself craving calm amongst the chaos, or are navigating the profound loss of someone you love — the paintings I create are meant to offer you a place to rest your mind and soul. The paintings I create are meant to bring you closer to the vastness of nature, sometimes in solitude, sometimes with those closest to you.

Each painting tells a part of my story, but I believe you can look at a work of art, know the artist’s story, and still find a piece of your own story within it, too. Maybe that’s one of the most beautiful things about art—it reminds us that even though our stories are uniquely our own, we are not so different from one another.

And to me, there is something pretty incredible about that.
